[Unbrick][Stock] Yoga Tab 3 - How to unbrick, and restore to stock.

I work at a shop and someone brought me a Yoga Tab 3 8" tablet that was on a screen that asked for an original google account.

It was purchased without much thought because i figured it was just part of the setup.

No this is actually a Device Protection feature google has had since Lollipop apparently.

There is a way around it if anyone is interested or is in a soft brick that they can access the recovery from.

THIS IS FOR THE YOGA TAB 3 8" YT3-850F ONLY!!!!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DESTROY YOUR TABLET! PLEASE BE CAREFUL. DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING FOR WRONG MODEL. CONFIRM YOUR MODEL NUMBER BY LOOKING ON THE BACK STICKER BEFORE PROCEEDING.

You will need :

A Computer

A Micro SD Card and Adapter

A couple of hours time

Patience...

Patience........

Firstly, as always, make sure the device is charged before attempting any of this please.

Download the stock firmware from This Link.

Do not extract the firmware at all or rename it, just leave it as it is, it will take about an hour to download.

After you have the firmware downloaded move the zip file to the root of the MicroSD Card on the computer.

Eject the SDCard from the computer and put it into the Yoga Tab.

Reboot into recovery by pressing Power and Vol+ let go of Power when you see the Lenovo logo.

Once in recovery go ahead and do a factory reset/data wipe.

The next step is to actually flash the zip you put on the MicroSD earlier. You go down to apply update from SD using the Volume + and -
buttons. Power to select an option. Select the Zip you downloaded from this guide.

it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to fully install the update. after it installs it will boot up like new again, with no Google Device Protection, and it is a possible way to unbrick!

Rooted, but no rooted apps work

Hello,

I recently used the toolkit to unlock and root my Sprint N6. Super user was installed and works. I installed Rootcheck after everything was complete and it verifies that the phone is rooted. I have installed Nexus 6 double tap to wake and LED control and both state that the phone is not rooted. Super user shows both those apps have super user access.

What am I missing? Thank you!!

[CM13]MobileIron root detect

Hi,

I am running CM13 snapshot on bacon. Root is disabled but MobileIron detects it and refuses to install secure app manager.
Is there a way to sandbox it in any way or some other workaround? Tried Xposed Rootcloak but it doesn't help.

Sim unlocked or not

I keep reading everywhere that i can put my att sim in this thing and it will work. Unfortunately i dont have a active att simm. All the ones i put in say sim is from u known source. No biggy. Seen that before. But my prob is no signal. I goto net selection and i see verizon and att but it wont let me register on the network. Im assuming this is due to the inactive sim i have. No rush on this droid ultra is backup pho e if possible. I run a lg g4

Where to buy in New York?

Hi, as an unhappy owner if the Nexus 5X, I am looking to buy a 6P. As an EU resident however, I won't put up with the ridiculous price over here. Luckily for me, I am going to NY next week, and if I manage to find one for the right price, I will definitely get one.
I want to ask some local people for some tips and places where to look for one. It also doesn't have to be new..even refurbished or second hand in great condition would do.

lenovo s920 stuck at bootloop showing 0mb internal memory

I have rooted my mobile using kingoroot and then used mobile uncle to install twrp then tried installing a custom ROM, it says cant mount internal storage, emmc and data. Tried wiping partitions the same error. custom rom was installed successfully but stuck in a bootloop. Tried with couple of custom roms but nothing worked. Can anyone help me please...............

Bootloader unknown, No Sim card, No Service and Setup Wizard stopped

Hi guys,

I started a thread about this about a week and a half ago but it seems to have disappeared so I start from the beginning.

After installing Cyanogenmod 13 on my One M8 I left it for what it was and only updated the nightlies as they came. After installing the "wrong one" I got the No sim card, No Service error and was told over here it might be solved by updating the baseband and asked me for the version I had at that time. After looking at it I found out that it was (and still is) unknown.
I decided to wipe the entire phone and start from scratch.

So........The saga contunues. Since I am not a mobile phone guru I looked up the right way to install Gaps. Today I installed the latest Nightly (cm-13.0-20160330-NIGHTLY-m8) rebooted the phone, activated the developer options and turn on the debugging function.
Right after that I installed Gaps and wiped both caches, rebooted the phone and s**t hoit the fan. Now I can't use the phone because I keep gettting a pop up telling me "unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped". I can press OK but it keeps popping up.

What is going wrong here? I have tried many ways, versions of Gaps and about 5 different nightlies. And, If I can manage to fix all this, is there anyone who knows where I can get the file(s) to update the baseband? Don't know if this of any help but my HTC One M8 is unbranded and is a Dutch one.

I hope there is an explanation and a solution to solve this.

Error when flashing ROM in Posh e500a mt6592m phone

Previously, I could flash mt6592 roms from mtkroms.com, but now I'm trying the latest cm12 and carbon roms in the rom lists, but they fail to flash. I get this error in cwm, twrp, and philz from the site. The cwm is from the mtk droid tools.

ApplyParsedPerms: lsetfilecon of /system/lost+found to u:object_r:system_file:s0 failed: Operation not supported on transport endpoint
script aborted: set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed (status 7) error
and then the location of the update.zip (on my external sd card)

There's no assert file in the updater-script, and I've set all the correct mount points.

The site says for mt6592, but no recent mt6592M roms have been posted. Also anyone know why the mt6592m roms are like 200mb larger? Mt6592m is like 1.4ghz octa, mt6592t is 2.0ghz octa, and regualr mt 6592 is 1.7mhz octa.

LG Friends developer website launching tomorrow

For those of you interested in developing modules for the G5, I have asked LG and they are launching the developer website tomorrow.

Hopefully it will be easy to interface with the phone. There is talk that they will have both HW and SW SDKs available. So there might be an easy way to build your own module prototype given all of the requirements that it has to meet.

I bought a new Pixel C. Got it yesterday. Has to get returned. :(

So I got the new tablet last night. Set it up without issue. It is very very fast. I let it charge overnight. I used it a bit early this morning. Brought it to work with me. Went to hit the power button and nothing. I hold it down, nothing. I plug it in, nothing. I contact google support and they said I need to send it in and they would refund me. And I can just buy a new one.

Not sure I want to. This is a horrid experience. I am really still wondering if an android tab is viable anymore. Besides the google tab, I don't see any other tablet even close to as good. But unsure about risking the purchase of another Pixel. I am rather depressed this morning.

Changing DPI properly on stock Rom ZE551ML

I am rooted but I didn't unlocked bootloader yet. I tried third party apps to adjust dpı but they didn't changed it. I tried command prompt from Windows it changed it with a little bugs like swiftkey and the photo of the user in status bar. So how can I adjust dpı properly?

Android Phone with NO BOOTLOADER freezes at boot.

I got an off-brand Android phone which has no bootloader. Whenever I boot it into FASTBOOT mode, all that shows up is the screen before it even boots into FASTBOOT mode. The phone proceeds to freeze. Last month, I rooted the phone and played around with the build.prop file. I managed to make the build.prop into a Samsung Galaxy S2. Thinking I could do better, I tried making it into a Galaxy S3. I rebooted the phone, and it froze at the boot animation. As it is now, the same is the case. Please help me bring back the phone. I have heard to use Odin, but I need a BOOTLOADER for that, which the phone lacks. It has 3 capacitive buttons.

Strange system apps behavior

When I go to the Settings > Apps screen, some preinstalled apps like TripAdvisor, ZenFlash Camera and many others (but not all) cannot be disabled (freezed), but directly "removed".
But the apps are not really removed, as they are still present in /system/[priv-]app directory, and they reappear after a phone reset.

I've never seen this behavior in other Android devices I've had, it should be an Asus customization.
If an app is installed in /system/[priv-]app it should only be disabled, and not falsely "removed".
This way I cannot disable temporarily an app, I can only delete it and re-download it afterward, when I need it (while the app is still present but hidden in the system).

Somebody knows if this behavior can be changed somehow, and how to do this?

Installing RUU

Hi, my phone is currently S-OFF running on marshmallow, but I would like to install the RUU below due to the issue with my phone's IMEI. Apparently the IMEI is lost.

The problem is I keep getting the [error] 159 image error when trying to run the RUU, the phone is re-locked.

Redmi note 3 pro network issues

I've purchased Redmi Note 3 Pro a few days ago. I'm satisfied with overall of the phone but there is one problem I'm facing.

After I quit airplane mode(every night I turns on airplane mode before sleep then turns it off in the morning), my phone won't detect the network most of the time, sometimes it detects the network but it took way too long to happen but still, it acts like there's no network. I couldn't call, sms, receive call, receive sms and use mobile data. Everytime I have to restart my phone to detect the network.

Is there any ways to fix this problem ? It irritates me a lot as I have to restart my phone everyday.

[Screen Recorder][No Root][Android 4.1+]

How to create screen recorder task in Tasker with the help of AutoInput. I know developers are more advance than this But it may help many other people. It requires no root access and works on all stock and custom ROMs.
Lets Start

Download and install TASKER
and AUTOINPUT

Open up tasker disable beginner mode from Preferences
Start new task and name it something like that "Start Recording" or "Start Screen Capture"
Now add following actions
Task>plugin>AutoInput>Screen Capture(Now tap on top right marker a new window will show up)
Configure it as Capture mode>Video
Set your video path
OPTIONAL check CAPTURE AUDIO if you want. It will record audio from microphone.
set resolution for your video its 360p,720p1080p and 2K
Set video duration to 0. You done for this tap on check mark top righ corner.
----
Now go back and create another task Name it "Stop Screen Capture"
add following actions
Stop task>Plugins>AutoInput>Capture Screen

Now select Capture mode to stope video,tap on check mark top right corner and you are back.

Now we have to configure how to and when trigger "Start Screen Capture" and "Stop Screen Capture"
You can design a scene having start task and stop task button
Here what i did
Start a new task and name it "Notify Record Screen"
add action
Notify(Title, Start Screen Capture)
Now go to Start Screen Capture" Task and add following actions
Notify Cancel(Title: Start Screen Capture)
Flash(Rec. Started)
Notify(Title: Stop Screen Capture)

Now go to "Stop Screen Capture" Task
and add following actions
Notify Cancel(Title:Stop Screen Capture)
Flash(Rec. Done)

Go to profiles tab and add
Events>UI>Notification click(Title: Start Screen Capture)
Select "Start Screen Capture" Task. Go back
Add a new profile
Events>UI>Notification click(Title: Stop Screen Capture)
Select "Stop Screen Capture" Task

How to use this Task or Recorder?
Go to Task "Notify Screen Capture" and test it from the Play button it is in bottom left of tasker screen.
A notification will appear in Status Bar
when you want to record your screen you have to tap on that notification and recording will automatically started when you want to stop or end your recording look for notification in Status bar again saying Stop Screen Capture
Go check your recorded Video

HTC One M8 - 3 (Three) UK - Unlocking Bootloader Possible?

I am planning to install a custom ROM on my phone, and I was looking up how to unlock the bootloader.

I've not unlocked a bootloader and flashed a ROM in quite some time, the last was my old HTC Sensation.

I stumbled upon a thread about how phones from the carrier I'm on, which is Three here in the UK, do not allow bootloaders to be unlocked.

"Three (and phones direct from networks ie. O2,Voda,Orange,Tmo) = SIM LOCKED, and Bootloader unlockable = No. Which means You can Sim unlock the device but Bootloader remains forever locked. Unless someone manages to find a exploit."

That was in 2013 though so does it apply still now?

Soft brick on unmodified phone (apart from OS upgrades)

I've had my M8 since about the end of 2014. Originally on Android 4, have since done OTA upgrades to 5 and 6 as they were flagged as available by my carrier (UK, O2).
I've never managed to get HTC Backup on my PC to recognise the phone, even with the original USB cable, so have never done a proper backup (Yes. I know). Fortunately for me, my Gmail contacts list was almost up to date, and apart from my calendar, that was the most important thing to save, so I've just had to grin and bear it.
Because of the lack of proper backup and therefore the facility to restore from one, I'd never done a factory reset after the various OS upgrades, which I've been told might have avoided my present situation, which is that I can't get any further than a bootloop situation. Other than that, I can get into recovery mode, but no further.
I've tried clearing the cache, I've tried a factory reset. Neither of those have got me anywhere.
I've no great desire (at present) to go fiddling with rooting or anything clever with the phone, I'd just like to get it working again. I've downloaded Android Studio to get the SDK for ADB but don't really know what I'm doing, and if I mess around without expert advice I could end up with a hard brick - which is why I'm here.
Can anyone give me some guidance about what I need to do to get my phone working again?

Downloading issues with SD card

Facing issues with SD card for past few days. No files gets saved to SD card by download. Unmounting the SD card resolves downloading issues for a few minutes and I can download pics and videos and watch them but if I try to access it later then I get 'Can't play...' and no file errors.
Any help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Allview X2 soul PlayStore doesn't work !

verizon moto x 2014 no recovery

hi, recently I bought verizon moto x 2014, unlocked bootloader and tried to install twrp recovery. everything went well before I tried to enter into recovery. Stuck in guest mode. How to reset?

First of all I am sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but help is indeed what I need. I just got a phone to add some games in it, that is of a friend's kid and after installing a handful of apps, when I tried to uninstall it told me I can't since I am on guest mode. Sadly as it seems he has absolutely no idea what's the guest mode password.

I remember reading somewhere that through google, I could get on a computer on the account and reset/change it. I found a device manager that brings up the map and it has a password change there. Is that the one that changes that google guest mode?

Problem with Samsung browser for Android 4.0

Hy guys!

Gap between top edge of glass and metal frame.

Hi all!

Been noticing that there is a gap at the top of the phone between the glass and the metal frame. I noticed it when I make a call and my hair gets always stuck in the gap and gets pulled out :D

What is the Battery Charging time with included Fast Charger for Z3+?

Hi, I bought Z3+ two days ago. Fast Charger is taking around 2 hours 15 mins to full charge the phone in switch on mode. Is it the actual time to charge it with Fast Charger?

If I connected it to PC USB Cable, the charging time is very slow. Is there is any tips improve it?

Music/sound output to headset and BT headset at the same time

Hi guys, my question is simple but I didnt find any answer... I travel alot with my girlfriend and we would like to listen to the same music from one device. Normally we use a y-cable but my headphones are very cheap and so I ask about a way to stream the music to BT headphones and for the normal headphones at the same time. Maybe with xposed or viper? :confused:

Partially building a custom rom

Hello there,

I am currently having a One Plus One. I have multi-rom utlity which allows me to have multiple android OS installed.

Currently the cyanogenmod based custom Marshmallow Rom I use (http://ift.tt/1ZHNrp8) has switched over to using stable CM branch as their rom base. So this requires using Super SU for root access. Unfortunately Super Su is not compatible with Multirom implementation for OPO.

One suggestion provided was to try building the custom rom from source with user-debug flag. Meanwhile I came across two build.prop values (ro.build.type=userdebug ; persist.sys.root_access=1) which I hoped would enable inbuilt superuser without rebuilding the rom from source but they did not work.

So for now, there seems to be no other way around building from source ( I wanted to avoid this as much as possible because I have a very slow Internet access downloading 30 GB or so for the ROM alone will take a month for me).

So here are my 2 questions:

1> The rom developer in the thread mentioned in 2nd para, talks about 2 source (Kernel and the rest). When I looked at the manifest, they talk about replacing something. So does this mean I need to download the cyanogenmod sources as well or does repo sync take care of that automatically ?

2> I assume the kernel and rom need to be built separately. Can the "userdebug" mode be enabled only by rebuilding the kernel and then placing it with rest of the rom build zip provided by the developer to avoid rebuilding the whole rom ? or better yet flash the my userdebug kernel again after the normal rom installation ?

Random Restarts (Long story)

Hey guys! This is my first thread here, but I knew this site before. I've got an M4 Aqua E2303, Android 5.0, Build 26.1.A.2.167 (upgraded from .99 with TWRP to keep the root.).

The story : I've got this phone like 4 months ago, I was so happy etc... After it updated to 5.0 it kept restarting randomly. Total random, when it was not under using, if I use it, it does not restart itself. Sometimes the restarts occurs when it's under charging, and sometimes when I want to unlock it and use it, and sometimes total randomly, and sometimes it shuts down. For different verions the problem was different too. On 26.1.A.2.99 it was the worst, it restarded and stuck on the boot screen until reached 0% battery. On 26.1.A.2.128 It turend off the screen, but the phone was running and the LED was red (even when fully charged) and only started with the hard off button in the SD card slot.

I've got the default "Diagnostics" app, now it says that the Phone got system errors 42 times in 10 days. It was worse before (over 140). But it doesn't say why did it restart, I'm hoping for help from any of you, who had this issue and solved it, or someone who knows a better diagnostic tool that will explain what caused the system fault.

Anyway to forward texts from windows phone?

I just got a Nexus 5x and I'm looking to at least try project Fi for a week or 2. That said I don't feel like carrying around 2 phones all the time. Id like to forward my texts from my old phone but its a windows phone. There doesn't appear to be any way to do that I can see. There doesn't appear to be any text forwarding or mirroring apps that work on windows phone.

Is there anything you all know about it? Even if it's a web portal or something I can log into. I've tried a few different 3rd party SMS apps but they all use the number on the current phone, I cant find one that I can add a different text account...this would be the ideal solution.

Tried logging into verizon messages in the browser and I can get in but the text interface never loads.

Like I said this is only for a week or 2 so even a fairly clunky solution would be acceptable at this point.

About Kernel Vulnerabilities

So I am aware that SELinux is a thing , and while I understand it adds security to a certain degree (I don't know specifics but I don't want to delve too far into that), I also know that Towelroot for my old S5 was made because of a Kernel vulnerability .

What I'm saying is that I know SELinux has changed to fully enforcing since 5.0 , but could kernel vulnerabilities still be exploited before security updates and firmware patches ?

Flashing woes

Let me start by saying I'm fairly well versed in fastboot, adb, flashing imgs, recoveries, ROM's, etc... But I have never had issues like I've had trying to flash custom ROMs on this phone. Right now, I have the bootloader unlocked, TWRP 3.0.0.1 installed and stock-root.

What is the proper procedure to flashing a ROM such as Chroma? Some ROMs list having to flash the bootloader and radio in fastboot; some don't. Most of the ROM's don't mention anything regarding flashing vendor.img, which after much reading seems to be an essential step after flashing a ROM. Then there is a universal vendor.zip which I have no idea what it does. I'm just trying to get everything straight so I don't have to restore the factory imgs 4 more times like I have done in the past day trying to get a custom ROM to work correctly.

Any insight is appreciated.

Fingerprint scanner bug after b330 update

I just got the new update B330 at Today (this is the official ota, not the beta version). And now sometimes the fingerprint scanner doesn't work when i want to unlock the phone. Sometimes it is working, but... Somebody else recognised this problem? Any idea how to fix it?

doesnt boot ( no recovery/system/download mode)

i unpluged the device before dhe odin finished his job ( by mistakeee ) and now it doesnt turn on , charge ,doesnt go to recovery/download , hold down power button for 30-60-120 sec nth hapend, it has baterry 90-100 % .pls help me :'( i have an samsung galaxy s advance .
ps. sometimes when i conect it with my pc now , sometimes* my pc recognises it , i know by the sound my pc makes , it doesnt show anything .

Manually flashing MM, how about bootloader?

Hi guys,

I been reading the forum for few hours but unable to find the answer to this question. Hope you guys can help me.

I got Moto X 1092 with 5.1 and unlocked bootloader. I have rooted and change system files before so I am unable to update to MM by OTAs. I'm planning to manually flash MM

My question is:
1. After I flash, would the bootloader be locked back?
2. Can I skip to flash the bootloader? Would there be any issue if I skip? Which file is it, boot.img?

Please help me as I don't want to do the wrong thing and bricked my phone.

LG G3 (D855) Stock Marshmallow: Force 4G Network Mode / Force LTE

Hi,
Under Marshmallow, it is no longer possible to select LTE only. Before the update under Lollipop you can select this in the hidden menu with the code 3845#*855# . The hidden menu is still available with the code *#546368#*855# .
But there's no option to force 4G / LTE anymore. Has anyone a solution for this problem?

Phone not connecting first try

I've noticed this the past few times I've tried to make a phone call with Android Auto. The phone will say it's dialing, but there is no dialing noise. If I hang up and try again, it works. When I finally reach the person I was calling, they said they did receive the first phone call but noone was on the other end. Has anyone else experienced this? I have a Nexus 6p and a 2015 Hyundai Sonata.

[Help] need help programming a ti-89 calculator.

I would love to program ti-89 calculator, but unfortunately I have no idea how to do so, could someone write what I am trying to program!? Or teach me how to since the tutorials I have seen don't teach me how to solve my problem cuz what I am trying to programming is sot of complicated.

It consists on having a few formulas for my phisics class, and make the formulas interact with each other in order to find the missing variables. Also, write a function, and make the calculator graph it and find some things like maximums minimums, continuity etc etc.

Alcatel Onetouch Idol 3 (4.7). Bootloop, Stuck after official OTA-Update

Hello! I am new to this forum and only registered after I have already had contact to the German Alcatel customer service - which was more than disappointing. They told me to delete, wipe partition and so on, which I've already did, but nothing is going to solve my problem. Thus, I am very very thankful for your help on my issue in advance.

I am using a two months old, newly bought Alcatel Onetouch Idol 3 (4.7). I have not changed anything to the software or so, I only inserted a SD-card a week after my purchase. My phone worked perfectly with Android 5.0.2 since my purchase.

Today, March 30th, I received an OTA update of slightly above 100MB size. I correctly downloaded it and afterwards I was asked to install it. That is what I did. After a while, it shut off and restarted, but now, it is stuck. I am directed to the menue where the android is laying on its back with a black exclamation mark in a red triangle. On the top of this page:

Then you can choose your language, after this you get to the menue where you can reboot your system, apply update from ADB, ...., wipe data/factory....and so on.

I did anything I could select here, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, reboot system now, power down and so on. Nothing helps. After rebooting, it will always reenter into this menue but won't start the phone. What the f....did Alcatel release?????? Though I am still having the bill of my purchase (on Amazon) I am now wittout a functioning phone which is not my fault and the customer service did not say anything to that.

Is there anyone out there able to give me a solution to this problem prior I'll have to send the phone in to Alcatel????

Hi all, I recently got a weird and strange issue out of the blue 2 days ago. No update/changes made just before issue, no playstore update done too for at least 4 days before issue popped up.

Unrooted and Locked bootloader

Issue: 1 SIM doesn't connect to network

1. Airtel was receiving 4G signals without any problem for weeks, however 3 weeks ago, it showed only "H" which is fine with me and working decently well.
2. Was watching a YouTube video, the Airtel network on SIM Slot 1 goes off. Searched for network, gets message "Error while searching for network", Idea on SIM Slot 2 works fine.
3. Airtel SIM is fine, both SIM Slots on Moto E2 are fine. Tested different combinations with my other SIMs and handsets.
4. Did airplane mode few times, no go, did radio turn off and on in *#*#4636#*#* . Gets lag there. Turns off on touchwiz but inside 4636 still shows on button to turn " off" radio, also selected LTE/GSM(PRL) in preferred network ther.

Played a little and found 2 temporary workarounds.

Workaround 1 : (Fixes problem for 5 minutes or so)

Disable SIM in Slot 1, Switch mobile data to Slot 2, enable SIM in Slot 1, gets network, switch mobile data to Slot 1, gets "H"... Slot 1 at "4G recommended" by default, 5 minutes later, network goes off. Search for network, mostly get "Error searching for network", randomly, Slot 1 detects Airtel network, when connected, says " SIM doesn't allow connection to this network", back to square one...

Workaround 2: (Has been fine for past half hour while I am typing the issue here using the problematic connection)

Set Slot 1 to 3G as soon as it gets working network with working 3G, after doing exact same steps as in Workaround 1.

To be noted: 4G/3G Airtel Network is fine in area, Airtel SIM is fine, SIM Slots are fine, other Idea SIM in Slot 2 doesn't show any problem at all and connects to internet too just fine on EDGE ( as it's a 3 yr old sim) , numerous restarts done, app cache cleared.

I am a Noobie, so please bear with me, I posted all the relevant details I could think of, as detailed as possible. Phone is 2 months old only, came with lollipop, upgraded to marshmallow through Moto's OTA update, never rooted or played around with ever.

This is driving me crazy, I could logically only think of some problem in the OS causing this issue without any warning or apparent reason... :( Tried different forums, no one posted about facing similar issue in India anywhere yet.

TCL M2U problems trying to flash.

Hi, not sure if I am posting this in the correct place but am having problems with a TCL M2U ( which appears to be riddled with viruses and is next to unusable). I was planning on attempting to flash it but can't get it to connect to the PC (any PC), and even the option for connecting via USB in storage settings is 'greyed out' and cannot be selected.

Is it possible to flash it from the SD card maybe, I can access a (Chinese) menu by pressing the power up button while powering on, but my reading of Chinese is somewhat lacking unfortunately.

once i took the device it out of the water it worked as usual and the touch was very responsive even when the display is wet
it seems that is the reason they made the display is so sensitive
it responded better then my xperia z5
after the test ijust washed it in the sink and let it dry on some paper towels and then returned to normal usage and wireless charging

Verizon Note 5 not detected on Gear VR

Hi guys, not sure if I've posted in the right place.

I have a N920V which I imported from the USA (living in the UK). I bought a Gear VR here hoping that it would work, but when I connect the phone to the Gear VR, it doesnt detect it.
Any ideas as to why?

[Question] how to toggle multiple active calls and initiate conferences

I got a full call management based on gestures programmed into my tasker.. long before phones began to handle that more or less well ;)
But I never found any possibility to handle multiple calls, named call toggling and start a conference if there are more calls.
It would not be that difficult to check if there are more than 1 call(s) active, but the command to change calls, unpause calls and make a conference are the missing parts.
There must be a root command available to do this. Who knows these?

Not able to run 6.0 based ROMs

Hi all,

I try to run a 6.0 based ROM, but when I first boot the phone after an install the phone reboots after half a minute. It looks like it boots normally, but after entering language and other settings (or also when skipping all) the phone reboots and the process starts over again.

I tried to install factory ROM via ADB, this doesn't give any errors while installing.
The same happens when I try another ROM like CM 13.
Only stable ROM for me is CM12, all other ROMS give reboot.
Any suggestions? Am I installing the wrong ROMs? I have a XT1562, run Squid kernel and latest TWRP.

Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

WARNING: This is our first release in a long time. We have a lot of new and somewhat aggressive changes in this new release. The changes to the graphics back-end may cause some devices to not boot up properly or have other display-related issues. If you are not in a position to reflash an older build of TWRP, then wait until you are or at least wait until others have tried the new version for your specific device. You don't want to end up with a non-working recovery and have to wait several hours or days to get to a computer to be able to fix it.

Notes for themers: In addition to the udpated theme, we have introduced a theme version variable to the TWRP theme system. If the theme version does not match the version that TWRP expects, TWRP will reject the custom theme and load its stock theme. This change will ensure that people who update TWRP without updating their theme will still have a workable recovery. We have removed libjpeg support. The stock theme was only using a jpeg image for the splash / curtain. This change means that any custom themes will no longer be able to use jpeg images. It also means that tools used to repack recovery images with a different curtain / splash will need to be updated to use the new method.

Version number notes: For a while we've been using a 4 digit version number and reserved the 4th digit for device-specific updates. For instance, we find and fix a device-specific issue like decryption of data on Nexus 5, we would release that as a 2.8.7.1. After a while, some people would start asking where 2.8.7.1 was for other devices. So, going forward we have decided to change the numbering scheme to 3.0.0-2, etc. Our hope is that this version numbering scheme will more clearly identify that the 4th digit does not indicate a version change for the code base.

My zenfone 5 does not enter Droidboot mode (fastboot) (Brick?) Read me please!

Hello . I will describe my problem. It was the stock rom lollipop V .78 in Zenfone 5. I manually update to the V .87 . So I entered the droidboot and first installed boot.img v .87 and then recovery.img v .87 .


After that, I installed by adb ( sideload ) the stock rom v .87 lollipop . There was an error at the 54 % ( blablabla ) . So the update did not work and my zenfone returned to V .78 .


The problem is that my zenfone 5 now lost access to droidboot and recovery is the version v .87. I can only access the recovery mode. I can not install anything via adb and not to downgrade . Always appears the error: Signature file validation .... aborted ... ( blablabla ) .


The interesting thing is that the smartphone is running on stock rom v .78 even without access to droidbot and wrong recovery .. Has anyone experienced this ?And does anyone know if you can reverse this situation ?. Any developer can advise me ? Thank you.:good:

[Help] I install remix os but stuck at boot

I install remix os in a ntfs partition with the USB tool and all boot normal but when start the logo of remix os just stay stuck in there and can't load the os so how can I do? The PC is a Lenovo C260 all in one with 2gb ram and 500gb Hard disk and just Intel HD graphics please help me

Must be kitkat 4.4.X based.. As lolipop roms have video calling bug and i cant compromise with it :P

[Q] Fix Samsung GI9300 can't boot into download mode

Hi there,
A few day ago, i installed "TWRP Recovery" to my Samsung Galaxy S3 GI9300 via "TWRP Manager".
Then I reboot but after reboot, I can't see anything on my phone. There is only a black screen. I tried to boot to Download Mode but I can't seem to enter Download Mode. When I connect my phone to computer, i only see "HQSUSB_DLOAD" :(. Anyone can tell me how to fix this.

Charging/Battery Packs

Hey Everyone. I'm been curious about this for sometime now, but could never really find an answer. Are there any negatives to charging your phone with a battery pack, on your PC, or with a USB cable other then what was supplied with your phone? I know Samsung states not to charge your phone through the computer, but its something I do all the time at work. I also have two battery packs I regularly use to charge our phones on the go. Any thoughts?

I recently bricked my Huawei Gra-L09 b200 and i need someone that is rooted (and owns the same device) to copy his recovery.img and post it as a zip on dropbox or any website where you can upload files . Any help is appreciated, if you are not knowing how to do that there are few ways,the fastest one is installing Flashify (Requires Root) and copy your recovery.img .If you need help unlocking your bootloader and rooting im ready to provide you the fasted ways of doing that. Xposed

Hey fellas,

Struggling big time here trying to get xposed working, Ive looked everywhere but cant find a post that shows me how to correctly install the framework on my mini 2.

Im on stock, bootloader is unlocked, rooted and twrp installed, so, i tried the xposed installer app to install framework, but it only enables 1 part of the process, 58 and 54, the other one installs then says reboot, when i go back to xposwd app, still only 1 part working -

app_process nothing active

Xposed bridge.jar - 54 active.

In red it says - app process version 58 has been installed previously but version "___" was found now, if you didnt expect an old file to be restored you might want to try installing via recovery (auto or manual) -
WOT ???????

LMAO, had plenty of phones, Z2 was my last one and ive never had issues installing xposed.

Now i am S-ON still coz i aint paying 25 dollars just to s-off when someone will crack it in the end, i always thought development was to share not to scam peeps outta money, but anyway, could this be my issue, i just assumed, being rooted, xposed should be fine.
Where am i going wrong.

Can anyone please assist, i would be extremely grateful.

failed to mount /system (invalid argument), Patching system image unconditionally

Hello,

first of all i want to apologize for my bad understanding, i am kind of a noob.
A few months ago i had an stock android 5.1 retail on my moto g XT1032, and i had problems using gapps because i couldnt made a connection to the google servers.
So yesterday i decided to flash a some new custom ROMs , i tried Resurrection Remix, CM12.1, PAC-ROM and Paranoid Android .
Then i got an "Patching system image unconditionally" error and i was stuck on it, so I tried to flash the newest TWRP recovery via fastboot . That worked out fine, but i still got that error Message, so I tried to flash my old Android 5.1 EU Retail. I were able to flash it but i got a bootloop.
Later i found out that when i factory reset my phone, i get an "failed to mount /system (invalid argument)" error.
After hours of chaos i just did random things in my recovery and wiped my internal storage, so I couldnt find my storage folder anymore.

To sum up: I cant flash any rom(stuck at patching system unconditionally...) except the android 5.1 retail but i get an bootloop and i get that "failed to mount /system (invalid argument)" error everytime.

Some Help would be nice.

PS: Sorry for my bad English, I know i messed up hard with my phone.

How to port a dead android device no sh/bin files no partition etc.....

Since years i have been asking the question over and over again in several groups of developers,

´´till now still no amswer,? The question was how to get the lost partition or the lost files back on the device.

It´s a ZTE 2.3.5. P7431...... 2.3.5+7 perl

I am not even able to port this device with android studio as well, the adb recognizes the phone as ???????? recovery

the rom it self is more known as swedisch snow by Base Lutea 2

Any special commands to port this device and to get the specific sh/bin files back on this device would be high appreciated .

QPST no phone problem

[Q] Problem with the Note 2 display

My note 2 never fell , was always used with the utmost care .
However, it presents a problem in your display, half of the screen gets blurred and while using the times over for the rest of the screen or disappear totally .

TWRP 3.0, Open Gapps and CM13 = Weirdness

Hi all, I'm not really sure if this is correct section to post this but has anyone else had issues with installing the latest (2016-03-16) CM13 release on their Nexus 7 flo device?

The steps I used to flash are as follows:
1. I used WugFresh NRT "Root" option with "Also flash custom recovery selected" to root my stock android 6.0.1 install and install TWRP 3.0.0.0
2. I then booted into recovery and copied over the CM13 zip and the (2016-03-16) version of OpenGapps Micro to the device.
3. I then did a factory reset from within recovery and flashed the CM13 zip which installed as expected.
4. Then I tried to flash the openGapps zip. I selected the zip and swiped to install and it stayed on "no md5 file found" for about 15 minutes. After this it installed and everything seemed to be fine until I rebooted into the OS.
5. When the tablet booted up for the first time and finished optimizing 96 apps* it came up with the CyanogenMod setup has stopped working error.

I know there is a work around for this but, as I had CM13 installed on this device before with no issue, I decided to dig a little deeper...

1. I downloaded TWRP 3.0.0.0 manually and flashed using fastboot. RESULT: Exact same thing with the long pause when installing Gapps followed by the CM setup error
2. I downloaded CM Recovery and manually flashed using fastboot. RESULT: Cannot install Gapps at all this time due to it not be compatible with CM recovery
3. I tried to ADB sideload using TWRP 3.0.0.0. RESULT: CM13 installed normally, but again, the same long pause with Gapps install followed by the CM setup error
4. By this point I'm fairly sure there is some issue with Gapps so I check the MD5 of the file and its fine so I download an older version and try to flash that... RESULT: Same thing as before
5. Next step, different Gapps version... So I download the "mini" version of Gapps instead of the "micro" one, check the MD5 and then try to flash. RESULT: Again huge pause during install follow by "Error 70: Insufficient space"
6. I setup a gapps config file on the tablet to tell the Gapps installer to install the Micro package in test mode so nothing should change. RESULT: This file is apparently completely ignored and I get the same result as before.
7. Finally I decide to fastboot flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 and voila! RESULT: CM13 installs and the Gapps micro install loads straight up installs everything at the expected speed. When the tablet reboots there are no error and everything seems to perfectly okay.

* As an aside I have a LG G3S/Beat which has been flashed with CM13 and OpenGapps Mini using TWRP 3.0.0.0 with no issue as all. When this device booted up it only optimised something like 24 apps. Can someone explain why my nexus 7 has to optimize 95 and the LG G3S only has to do 24?

TLDR; TWRP 3.0.0.0 doesn't like Gapps on the Nexus 7 flo

So has anyone else had any issue like this with their devices?

Qualcomm EcoPix technology

Hi,

I wanted to ask this in a more suitable thread but I dont have permissions.

I would highly appreciate if you can help me on this matter.
I have a few questions about EcoPix in general, and most specifically about CABL (Content Adaptive BackLight)

* I would like to turn EcoPix/CABL on/off - is there a way to do it ?
* Is there a device in the market that already has EcoPix/CABL ?
* Is there an SDK that I can use to change EcoPix settings? (for app developers and/or for android framework developers)
* Is the adaptive contrast mechanism always on ? is it only in video (fullscreen only?)
* Does this mechanism actually save power? If so how much ?

No sensor is working

Hi all,

I got my S7 edge from Dubai a few days back. I tried it and all was working fine (without a SIM in it). Auto rotation, Heart sensor, auto dimming etc.
After a couple of days, I moved to Europe where I had my SIM changed to Nano and then installed it in my S7.

To my surprise, not sure if the SIM thing had anything to do with it, no sensor works. I even dialed *#0*#, clicked on SENSORS, and they all show 0s and no data is changing, THEY SIMPLY DON'T WORK. None of them, I even go to camera and nothing rotates if I rotate the phone.
The auto dimming is not working, the Heart sensor, nothing.

I had other official firmware installed, both from europe and last from UAE again, and still nothing.

Any ideas? Please help, I have a brand new phone without any sensors working all of a sudden.

[APP] Alternative App Picker - No root needed

This app is used for two purposes:

1. You open a file and when you select an app it is automatically selected as the default app. You want that you must be presented with an app chooser every time you open that file. (This happens in Samsung S6 Marshmallow and might happen in other devices and ROMS).
2. You want the app chooser to pop up but you don't want to press the JUST ONCE button every time i.e you want to open desired app with single tap.

The solution to this is that you need to go and open the file as before, but instead of selecting the desired app you should select APP PICKER.
Then you will again be presented with a list of apps which can open that file. Now you can open that file with your desired app.
Next time you open the file, you will be presented with a list of apps which will also include the App Picker. Now you would not need to select app picker again.

Your problem should now be resolved, that (1) you will always be shown an app picker, and (2) you will not need to press JUST ONCE button.

I have tested this on various apps and 2 devices, but I will be happy to bring more updates if they are required.
Currently the app should work on following:
Text files
Images
Videos
Audio files
Other file types such as pdf, xlsx etc. (all types are impossible to test so please give feedback if something is not working)
Internet Browsers
Email Apps
