Photo of the Pixel 2 Seemingly Confirms Previous Leaks, Reveals Stereo Speakers

We're seeing a lot of focus lately put on both LG and Samsung since they are scheduled to unveil the LG V30 and the Galaxy Note 8 later this month. However, a segment of the community is looking forward to the next smartphones to come from the Mountain View tech giant, Google. A new photo has just been leaked that claims to how us what the design of the smaller Google Pixel 2 will look like and it seems to confirm details that we published earlier this year.

A couple of months ago, we shared some information from sources close to us about the hardware for both the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL. It was revealed to us that the 4.97″ Google Pixel 2's design would be relatively unchanged compared to its predecessor. While there are some subtle and important changes happening, we're seeing less of a change with the smaller version than we will with the upcoming Pixel 2 XL (which is likely from LG manufacturing the larger of the two).

Along with similar top and bottom bezels, we told you Google would be ditching the 3.5mm headphone port for front-facing stereo speakers. So today, Evan Blass has revealed what is said to be a live photograph of both the front and the back of the upcoming Google Pixel 2. Immediately we noticed cutouts for what is likely to be front-facing stereo speaker just like we talked about two months ago. The top and bottom bezels are indeed slimmer compared to last year, but won't be as slim as the Google Pixel 2 XL. Also, VentureBeat further confirms this year's Pixels won't feature a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The back of the device shows the other design changes with the phone as it has a shorter piece of glass at the top. This is exactly what we saw in some CAD renders that were published not too long ago.

What do you think about the design of the upcoming Google Pixel 2?
