Hi,
I just purchased a Kenxinda Three Proofings W9 (also known, in Malaysia I think, as the Kenxinda Flattop W9).
It is a 6" ruggedised smartphone that cost approx $350 Australian Dollars, (or a bit over $300USD.)
The phone seems excellent, except that it contains some malware from the factory.
Lookout finds:
HTMLViewer - App Dropper.Android.shedun-main.ad
Kaspersky finds:
not-a-virus:HEUR:AdWare.AndroidOS.Xynyin.I - SystemFQAD kenxinda.apk
Malwarebytes finds:
Android/Trojan.Sivu.c - /system/priv-app/HTMLViewer/HTMLViewer.apk
The shop I purchased it from are happy to refund me, which I will do if I cannot get a resolution.
Kenxinda don't seem to want to help me.
I have tried various apps to try and root the phone, (using a dummy google account on a freshly reset phone, so as not to risk my personal data) such as Kingroot, Kingoroot, One Click Root 2 and Towelroot.
I know nothing else about android rooting/hacking, but I do know the basics of linux.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to fix this, (with minimal risk of bricking the phone) or should I just send the phone back for a refund?
Thanks
