What happens if we deleted the only copy of ROM on a phone without an SD card slot?

I'm planning on buying a new phone which doesn't have an sd slot. I'm definitely rooting it. So, while installing a new ROM, if we delete the ROM copy accidentally and don't have a nanodroid. I've read on an xda thread that such phones have a SD partition. I suppose we can use OTG. But if it doesn't support OTG, am I fkd?
